History of Chex Mix

The history of Chex Mix dates back to 1952 when a food scientist at Ralston Purina created the original recipe as a marketing strategy for the company’s Chex cereal line.

The early version consisted of a combination of Chex cereals, butter, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings baked to create a crunchy and flavorful snack mix.
