For Christmas, we received live lobsters! They weren’t actually in the box we received. Instead, we chose a weekend for them to be delivered. They arrived in a styrofoam box packed with ice… and they were alive! The boys were absolutely freaked out and fascinated at the same time. We kept them in the refrigerator for the night and cooked them up the next evening.
Before preparing them for dinner, I let the boys check out the lobsters more closely. They were really fascinated with the lobsters’ hard shells and long antennae. It was a terrific science lesson, talking about what lobsters eat, how/where they live and why they have such hard shells.
